A Country Divided

November 9, 2012 | By | 1 Comment

If there was one thing we learned from this last Presidential election it was, “The USA is a Country Divided.”

With President Barack Obama getting 4,194,643 popular votes and Governor Mitt Romney getting 4,133,945 popular votes, there was only a difference of about 60,698 votes! That’s about the population of Carson City, Nevada! Wow what if Carson City was the swing city or deciding factor?

Carson City: Approximately 153 square miles in area. It abuts the Sierra Nevada Mountains which are the entrance to the basin from the west and the terminus from the east. The magnificent mountains intercept and exhaust the moisture of the air currents ever flowing from the Pacific Ocean eastward, consequently they pass comparatively rainless over the broad basin region, leaving it desert-like. The point is, “Not since 1861 the start of the American Civil War, or the “War between the States”, has this country been so divided! And in that war a Republican, Abraham Lincoln fought for the civil rights of the slaves. Go figure, a Republican fighting for the rights of the African Americans, and then we have this last election in which a Republican was fighting against an African American. Are we a crazy country or what?

Now you may ask, “Chuck, what does this blog have to do with Ufology and are you really living in a crazy country?

The answer is, “There’s a lot about people being divided which effects Ufology and the Paranormal, and yes, this is a crazy time and a crazy country some of us live in.”

In June 2012 a National Geographic Poll reported, thirty six percent of Americans, about 80 million people, believe UFOs exist, and a tenth believe they have spotted one. That leaves about sixty four percent of the population who either don’t believe in UFOs or were too embarrassed to give an honest answer. In a country so divided not only by politics, but same sex marriage, abortion, and where to find a great tasting cup of coffee, it’s a wonder us investigators have a hell of time trying to convince the public something strange is going on in their own backyard!

Public division on opinion in Ufology and the Paranormal has been a battle field for all investigators and researchers since they (we) started investigating cases. Let’s look at some instances.

Animal Mutilations: Las Vegas, Nevada journalist George Knapp has estimated more than 10,000 mutilation cases have been reported on ranches all over the country. And in some states like the one I live in Colorado, Animal Mutilation falls under Animal Cruelty laws which is a criminal act and can be classified as a felony! No one has ever been arrested or convicted, yet, “The Public Stays Divided!”

Sasquatch (Bigfoot): This jerky loving creature causes great division within the public constantly with believers always arguing with non-believers. It’s a myth! It’s not a myth, he’s real! It’s just an ape! It’s not just an ape; it’s a completely different species! Blah blah blah, yet people see the big guy from time to time which proves something is and has been out there for quite some time. Just ask anyone within the Native American community, yet, “The Public Stays Divided!”

Ghosts: Ghosts, spirits, apparition sightings go way back in history. Wikipedia states the religions of Sumer, Babylon, Assyria and other early states in Mesopotamia have references associated to ghosts. With today’s technology EVPs (electronic voice phenomena’s) and EMF (electromagnetic field) readings are proving to us, there is an intelligent spiritual entity which likes to communicate with the living from time to time. I’ve personally experienced this, and so have my colleagues, yet, when we release information about our investigations, “The Public Stays Divided!”

Aliens (ET): Through humanities literature there are references to strange beings, from angels ascending from the heavens, ant looking creatures venturing from underground caves, to actual ships being seen in the sky’s, yet a lot of it is disregarded as mere imagination. Modern day science knows very little about what actually lies beyond this planet in outer space, but they are making significant discoveries. To locating Earth-like planets, to finding new solar systems, to constantly learning more about our own galaxy, it seems each year sometimes each month, science takes a step forward to admitting the possibility intelligent life exists outside this planet. But we don’t have to wait for the academia science to tell us, there are thousands of cases of craft sightings, entity sightings, and even direct communication with aliens. Communication on purpose like Betty and Barney Hill in 1961, to communication by accident as in the case with Travis Walton in 1975. There’s so much evidence this planet is being visited by life outside this planet, yet “The Public Stays Divided!”

The United States of America currently has a problem in Washington between two major political parties who won’t play nice with each other. It doesn’t matter if the readers of this blog are Republicans or Democrats, this last election based on the popular vote shows an almost even split between the two, so we are at the “Even Steven” stage. This “Even Steven” stage is a wake-up call to all of us which desperately needs to be addressed now and not later. Back in elementary school when two kids playing together in competion reached an “Even Steven” scenario, they shook hands and called themselves both winners not losers. This is exactly what we need to do, because as long as our government is in turmoil, our economy is in turmoil, and as long as our economy is in turmoil, so is Ufology. It’s really hard for researchers and field investigators to help people with their sightings and encounters, when these very same people have to worry about putting food on their own tables.

As an investigator I will always have to deal with a public divided when it comes to my investigations, and I can deal with that, but when it comes to a “Country Divided”, that’s a whole different story. We need to fix what’s broken in our government so we can move onto other issues, like trying to fix public opinion when it comes to UFOlogy and the Paranormal, which is also broken too!

Yes you are right. This country is divided with a capitol D!! The votes were close. Are those the exact final counts? I thought I remained politically correct in my reply to the blog but at least I can say my inner thoughts here without fear. I do not understand how people could vote “red” with all the lies. Lies about moving companies, hidden foreign bank accounts, Jeep moving to China, hidden tax returns and so forth. How can folks believe such BS?? I read a article that addressed our thinking in Psychology Today. It also touched on other studies that I was also able to research. It seems that when we have a belief in our brain such as the President was born in another country or Apollo was staged in a studio or flu shots give you the flu, etc. that if faced with the truthful facts, the brain has to replace that belief with the truth but also attempts to find another reason not to believe in the truth. It’s like the thought is misplaced in the brain and has to go somewhere! Read up on it! I was hoping this will help me when I deal with my elderly mother of 89 who doesn’t want to change her thinking or believe in science It would mean her believing in something that is beyond her comprehension, the truth! And that it very hard for people obviously. So just like people do not believe in ghosts, ufos, immunizations or birth certificates, there will never be a common belief about anything it appears. I didn’t want to do any Bible thumping on your website but there are some statements in Revelations about one shall be taken and another spared. It is one of those equally divided things. One will be rightous, the other un-rightous. Then by my interpetation, there will be the “haves” and the “have nots”. Turbulant times are ahead in the next couple months. If anything I believe is that there will continue to be earthquakes increasing in intensity. Unfortunately, science cannot pinpoint these locations. There are many thing that will continue to happen while the earth and solar system pass through a cycle.
