On Saturday August 29th, Margie hosted the Midwest UFO Conference in Kansas City, Missouri. She brought together an amazing group of individuals (including myself, and yes I am amazing, well sometimes…. ok only in my mind) and they shared their experiences and knowledge with the audience.

The following are the speakers Margie brought together for the conference.

Dennis and Debbie

Early Saturday morning of the Conference, started out for me, Debbie and Dennis Balthaser promoting the conference at local television station KCTV Channel 5 near Kansas City Missouri. The news reporter asked me to explain how to run a complete investigation in less than 30 seconds, while I preferred to say, “I like turtles”, Dennis stepped in and saved the day with a witty comment.

Grant Cameron

Grant started his UFO quest in 1975 because of a personal sighting he had in Carman, Manitoba. He then focused his research towards past US president’s involvement with past UFO incidents. Making 20 plus trips to National Archives of various presidents, Grant has gathered a wealth of information to share with the general public about our former leaders.

Grant’s lecture, “UFOs, Myths, Conspiracies, and Realities” discussed information from John Alexander’s book and focuses on other information John  didn’t write about thus completing the story. Grant’s very professional presentation loads the audience with an abundant amount of information which satisfied their every question. Precise and to the point, this is a person you definitely would want to see in the future.

Art Campbell

What can I say about Art Campbell which hasn’t already been said before, an icon in UFOlogy, Art is “The Man”.

Art started his long and interesting journey in the 1950’s. He was an early NICAP investigator and chairman of the NICAP chapter in Kansas City, MO. A Navy veteran, he’s a retired school teacher and school administrator. Destined to teach, and still doing so, Art has slowly changed his teaching techniques from instructing school children about fundamentals to instructing the world on UFOlogy.

Art talked about his research and archeology work on the UFO Crash at the Plains of San Augustin, NM. Pulling debris from this site and having it analyzed, he shared his knowledge and results with the public. Art also had actual artifacts there for the public to see.

Chuck Wade has been included to Art’s camp and has also been researching and working the Augustin site. I personally was given a piece of debris Chuck had found, had a preliminary analysis done and found it to be of high-grade aluminum. Art’s analysis surpasses mine in great detail on the artifacts he found, and this information can be viewed on his website.

Art is considered a National Treasure in UFOlogy and is definitely a must see. His down home mannerisms with country-speak, is an experience you’ll never forget and want to experience again.

Dennis Balthaser

The conference’s Keynote Speaker, Dennis is not only a good friend of mine, but very highly respected in the UFO field. Sought after by numerous periodicals and television stations, you will always get your money’s worth when you attend his lectures.

Dennis served 3 years with the US Army in the 815th Engineering Battalion. After over 33 years in Civil Engineering, Dennis retired from the Texas Department of Transportation and then worked as an Engineering Consultant in Roswell New Mexico.

While in New Mexico, Dennis volunteered his time at the International UFO Museum. After nine months as an engineering consultant, Dennis resigned and took on the role of Operations Manager at the IUFOMRC under the guidance of its original founders. He was later appointed on the Board of Directors and became one of the museum’s top investigators. When the museum’s founders started releasing their control to less than desirable management, Dennis left and focused his expertise as an independent researcher/investigator.

Dennis not only research’s and investigates the Roswell phenomenon, but has also focused his talents as a member of the Great Pyramid of Giza Research Association. To our surprise the conference’s visitors fascination with Giza was overwhelming. Dennis didn’t miss a step and had fully researched material at hand to answer all their (somewhat complicated) questions. You’ll always learn something new and exciting with Dennis.

Debbie Ziegelmeyer

Of course what can I say about my sister Debbie. I’ve known her my entire life. Debbie has been my right hand man…. uh woman when it comes to investigating the unknown. We ventured together through places most people would shy away from. Not afraid to take on the challenge, Debbie is always there to step in when help is needed.

Debbie is currently Missouri’s State Director for MUFON (Mutual UFO Network), and a STAR team investigator. Debbie has recently been appointed to MUFON’s Board of Directors, and will assume a full position on the board as current members retire.

Debbie has worked with me on many investigations including a 2002 and 2006 Archeology dig near Roswell for the Syfy Channel. Constantly sought after by the media, Debbie focuses her talent on proper examination of investigations filling in all the gaps with her diligent research.

At the conference, Debbie discussed her most current investigations in the Missouri area focusing on detailed interviewing techniques, precise investigative methodologies, and topping it off with compassionate skills. You can always count on Debbie’s experience and skills to go after investigations and get results. Always a pleasure to work with and always a pleasure to have around, you can never go wrong with my sis.

Chuck Zukowski

Debbie and I ran two lectures back to back. The first lecture covered our involvement with the Roswell incident from the beginning of our journey to our most current results this year. Skeptic proof, the material of our detailed investigations actually kept the annoying skeptics at the conference at bay, leaving the curious audience members with plenty of time for QA.

After a 15 minute stretch, our second lecture was kicked off by Debbie covering her most current Missouri investigations which then led into me covering the cattle mutilation phenomenon in Colorado and discussing my most current investigation earlier that month. Not hesitating to divulge more to the audience, I threw them a curve. I discussed my latest theory, “37 Degree Latitude” in which I’ll cover on my next post.

As always the audience was filled with curiosity and questions and we spent extra time answering every question they tossed at us. Well informed and eager for information, the Kansas City audience kept us on our toes and was a pleasure to lecture to.

Many thanks to Margie for hosting The Midwest UFO Conference.
