Waldo Canyon Fire, June 25th, 2012, Colorado Springs Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. —

The Waldo Canyon Fire exploded on Saturday, June 23rd 2012, but some say small plums of smoke were seen in the area the day before. At the time of this video release, over 5000 acres have been burned and over 6000 people have been evacuated. Fire fighters have not determined the cause of the fire, due to the hazardous conditions near the suspected origin.

This video was shot with a Sony Hi8 Handycam model number TRV87. I shot the first segment of the video in Night-shot mode by using a 850nm 37mm IC IR Filter. I was able to manipulate this model’s internal filter block to enable shooting IR during the daytime.
